I was looking through the best of craiglist in search of funny posts when I stumbled on to this gem. Vasectomy: $400, the look on her face: priceless

I'll be the first to admit that the narrator is pretty cold and calculating, but the girl he's discussing is twice as scary. What do you folks think of this story?

If a guy is offering to use condoms, that's a big red flag. Most guys out for a "good time" won't even think of using a condom, unless the girl insists, for two reasons:

1: if a girl is "up for it" she must be as crazy and reckless as he is, and heck, it couldn't possibly happen to him, right?! and

2: if a girl is up for it, she must be on the pill already. I mean, aren't all girls?

In my experience unfortunately, nowadays, neither sex has the monopoly on being selfish, and out for what they can get. Girls is just as bad as boys.

Wow. That's a crazy story. My husband would probably love it.

I agree with you that the guy is pretty cold, but I have no sympathy for the woman. I married my husband when he was 37, and have thanked my lucky stars ever since that no woman succeeded in pulling that kind of [censored] on him before I met him. Because they certainly tried!

I think guys need to be reaeeeeaaaaallly careful, because there are a ton of women out there who are ready and waiting to pull these kinds of stunts. I worry about my brother. I think the whole "oops" thing of trapping men is creepy.

Gotta admit, that was pretty funny. They're both losers, though.

It was an amusing read, but scary. Lots of kids are being brought into the world in this manner. Vasctomy isn't a first date topic, but why keep it a secret after a relationship has been established? They both seem a bit off.

I haven't read the link yet, can't get into it while I'm at work. But I have a related story to share.

My sister's friend is like 31, and she hasn't really had a lot of boyfriends. She recently started dating this guy, and they were dating for four months, and she got pregnant.

He took it well, but come on. If you are getting pregnant in your 30s, you are old enough to know better.

A couple of weeks ago, she was annoyed that her SO didn't get her a Mother's Day card. Um, isn't that a BIT premature?

And, she was saying she doesn't like the fact that she's pregnant and not engaged. Well, then don't get pregnant! So now she expects the guy to propose b/c she was an idiot and didn't use birth control. She found out she was pregnant when she went to her gyn to get on birth control. Too late, I guess.

He's British, and she went to England to meet his family for the first time a few weeks ago. And on that same trip, they learned she was pregnant. Nothing like making a really great first impression! I've basically lost all respect for this woman. I think she's CRaZy.

I get really annoyed when I hear these stories. He should have insisted she use something, I guess. But I feel a little bad for him b/c they barely know each other.

Okay, I feel better now that I've shared this story.

My SO's friend just got duped by his on-again, off again girlfriend. Okay, well I think he did. My theory is, if you don't want to get pregnant, you can prevent it almost 100% of the time. Therefore, if you get pregnant, you wanted to get pregnant. Either that, or you just felt the laws of biology didn't apply to you--making you an idiot. Either way, his friend is trapped now, which I'm guessing the girl thought of ahead of time. He wasn't willing to commit to her before, so--surprise! Now you have no choice.

I feel that women who do this are a huge detriment to the rest of us who take accountability for ourselves. It must really stink to have such low self-esteem that you have to get pregnant to try to trick someone into staying with you. And, shame on these boys who trust the girl to prevent pregnancy. They should be more aware that many, many females are "calculating man eaters!"

I have read this story before. Women like that make me sick. She knew she messing around with more than one guy and she was hitting him up saying he was the daddy. Of course he knew that was a load of BS. Women do this kind of BS all the time and there are a lot of stupid men out there that don't watch out for themselves. I wonder how many good hearted men there are out there who are paying child support for someone elses kid.

How about the Maury shows (that I don't watch but see on the TV when I'm working out at the gym) that revolve around women who are coming back for the 7th time to see if #7 is the baby daddy because the other 6 weren't?

Those women should be sterilized.

I just don't believe that anyone ends up "accidentally pregnant". There's no such thing. You were stupid, careless or both.

Unless you're in a committed monogamous relationship I'd think pregnancy would not be the least of your worries either... do these people think they're impervious to STI's? Or worse still, blissfully ignorant while they run around "hooking up" ...

Having said that, my father told me last week that he's about to become a great grandfather before he retires. My nephew has an "oops" on the way at the tender age of 19. The funniest part is that he was a "oops" on my brother's part at the same age - and yet my brother was just going OFF about it. It would be cosmically funny if it wasn't so tragic.
