I agree with all of it except that Jesus was a man in the flesh but He was Deity. He said He was God in John 8:58 and John 10:30. So if you believe the Bible literally then we know that Jesus is part of the trinity or Godhead. Father, son, and Holy Spirit.

The way I see it is that there are a lot of metaphores in the Bible. Not everything is meant to be taken literally. And you can't get the meaning of reading only 1 verso. We need to read everything before it and after it to get the true meaning.

Actually, according to the Gnostics.. Jesus did not believe in the Hebrew God. The Creator that he was speaking about was the unknown Creator of the Gnostics and the realm of Barbelo, the home of Sophia, the Great mother.

There is an interesting article about that here.

What I am saying is that the Gnostic texts present a very different picture of Jesus than the Biblical texts. There are a lot of similarities, but there are also very significant differences. The Gnostic texts also present a very different picture of the God of the Hebrews.

So, in essence we are looking at the same stories, only from a different angle. Why would the Bible be any more correct on the subject of God and Jesus than the Gnostic texts would be?

But, if you look carefully at Gnostic belief and the principle of emanations.. it is reflected throughout the entire bible!

So, interpretation is everything. Looking at the bible from a Gnostic or Sumerian point of veiw you start to see a different interpretation is possible.

So, if you are relying on literal interpretation of the bible regarding Christadelphians, which literal interpretation are you talking about?
