What are your favorite books on Wicca or Spirituality in general? I am always looking for a good read.
Blessings, Amelia

Anything by Joseph Campbell will be informative and interesting, on world religions and especially archetypes, which are very useful for personal growth.

Hi Alegra! Welcome to the forum. I am especially interested in world religions as I have some pretty deep discussions with my homeschooled children about them.
Well now I have to start a thread for homeschooling books. Thanks for the brain stimulation!

I e-mailed this to the previous Wicca editor - but y'all might be interested, too:
I just got through reading a book that I thought you might enjoy: "Spellbinder" by Melanie Rawn.
It's a fiction book about a "witch", but it's also a kind of romance novel - a good combination of the two. But it really looks at the relationships and differences between Christian and Wicca, and Satanism and Wicca.
I don't know how realistic all of the spells and rituals are, but she seemed to have put a lot of thought into it.
Thought you might like to check it out. I enjoyed it just from a fiction standpoint in that it was a good read.

What a good question! I've given away so many books that I'll have to try to remember some good ones that are no longer with me ... The Craft by Dorothy Morrison. Workbook with great visualization exercises.
Apprentice to Power by Timothy Roderick. A male Wiccan viewpoint! Memoir plus interesting explorations of Eastern religions and psychology.
The Complete Idiot's Guide to Wicca & Witchcraft by Denise Zimmerman. Comprehensive!
The Heart of Wicca by Ellen Cannon Reed. Controversial and well-written. Author levels valid criticisms of much that is superficial and sentimental about popular Wiccan culture.
The Circle Within by Dianne Sylvan. Interesting focus on day-to-day Wiccan spirituality.
Plus, I'm trying to develop a "Pagan-Themed Mystery" subgenre over on the Mystery Books site, and I've so far posted reviews of Rosemary Edghill's Bast trilogy. So I could recommend those if you're into mysteries.
Actually I could ask for help as well. The only other pagan-themed mystery that I've run across is M.R. Sellars's Rowan Gant series and I found the first book short on writing talent, and heavy on the violence so I've been reluctant to add it. But if anyone has heard of any other good pagan-themed mysteries, please list them here and I'll check back!
This may be a long shot, though! It seems that pagan-themed fiction tends to run towards the fantasy genre and not the mystery genre. I mean, when was the last time we ever saw a Wiccan police procedural?

Karm the book I mentioned is a little bit of a mystery as well (it seems to have a little bit of everything, LOL!)
I can copy my post over if you like.

I love it!!!
I thought Charmed, Ghost Whisperer, and Mediem were all shows based on Mystery books? I am not sure if you would concerter them Wiccan.... but its the closest I have seen!

Thanks, Michelle. No need to copy the post over. I'll go look up the Rawn book at the library, and give it a try!
