In honor of Jerry Falwell's passing, I thought we might want to take time to honor his memory with a few of his own words. Anyone feel like sharing one of your favorite Falwell quotes? I'll start with this one:

Wasn't he just a fine Xtian guy? Gotta be proud to call him an American! Too bad he lived so very long.

The only thing I find sad about his death, is that he probably won't be waking up to discover how wrong he was!

The guy was an bigoted opportunist, preaching ignorance and intolerance. He would always spew some venomous statement and 'apologize' a few days/weeks later but like any good lawyer knows the jury has already heard the message and locked it in.

Now, out of fairness why don't you post all the stupid things YOU'VE ever said.

There's a difference between stupid things uttered amongst friends or in the privacy of your own home and bigoted, hateful things said during a nationally syndicated t.v. broadcast or in the midst of giving a sermon attended by 6,000 people per service.

Please feel free to post anything I've said you may think is stupid. oh wait I do not have a huge public forum and thousands of followers passionately listening for my view on everything; When you carry that much responsibility your words do carry weight no matter how stupid they might be. He had the responsibility to think twice before making public statements that alienate and hurt others.

What bigoted and hateful thing did the Rev. Falwell say? I never heard any such thing.
