Bravo Chia Welcome here. Really impressed when see a youth or teenager have such opinions. Sometimes my daughter amuses me too. One of the things that has always bothered me about certain fundamentalist Chritians is their belief that God takes care of those whose faith is strong enough and whose prayers are fervent enough. The reverse side to that coin is that if you accept that God takes care of the faithful, then you have to accept that those who are struck by tragedy, death, or disease simply weren't faithful enough. This seems really arrogant if you think about it: it's like saying that people who drown in tsunamis, are massacred in wars, or suffer and die from malnutrition and poverty deserve it. Alicia I guess no acceptable reason or logic could find in such manners. Yeah it's human ability to justify things in favor of beliefs.

mmm... I am a Christian and i dont go around telling people they are going to hell and I have a problem with "christians" that do!!! I like to learn about that others believe why they believe the way they do or dont. All religions have there pit falls and there good points! I believe what i believe not because the bible, my mom dad aunt uncle or farmer brown told me to or I was going to hell if i dont!!
I think parents have a moral and eithical duty to teach there kids right from wrong weither it be 10 Commandments, Wiccian Rede or just the state and federal law!! kids need a moral compass to guide them!
I also think if we set aside the religous pride and learned from each other the world would be a better place. this is not to say compremis your beliefs into a PC one religion fixs all!!! I think you can Pray, meditate, cast spells or dance a jig to farmer brown if you want to what ever God(s) Goddess(s) Diety or pin cushion if you like and I can have the same right too!!! If we focus on the comman things and stop trying to convert by force we could have peace! it is the religous pride and the greedy minds of humans that say I have to convert everyone and everyone has to think like me that starts wars!!! but under that, is just greed for power, control and money religion is just a cover up to get people to fight for the war!!! Good to see you back FreeBubbles! Happy Birthday Ali! We had a very eye-opneing experience with the "If you pray hard enough...." A woman in our church was diagnosed w/ 3 brain tumors. Martha was very devout, as were all of her family - especially her son who was my age. Everyone was praying fervently for healing, or some new medical discovery - because she waw just too young to die! (45) My friend, her son, was absolutely devastated when she did not pull through. He had not only prayed with all of his heart - but truly believed that God would heal her. It was a hard lesson of "Not my will but Thine". Trying to accept that no matter how much we wanted something, it still wasn't granted. But in some ways it made my faith stronger, too. it showed that God is not just some wish-granting genie in a bottle. He has plans for us, even if we don't know what they are. Sometimes we'll get to see the direction of those plans while we are still living. But I think many, if not most, of those questions are going to be answered in heaven (or the after-life if you'd rather.) I've railed at God many times for things I feel are "unfair" - I even wrote a song about that issue called "Why Me?" it's on these boards somewhere... But I finally come back to hope and faith. I coudln't get through every day with Depression without these.

Hey I wondered where you were and if you were still here!!!! I have missed you!!!!
I know alot of people that say dont question God!! and DONT tell God your mad, but for me who are you joining to get answers if you dont Question? and God made us so doesnt HE know Im mad anyways? and how honest is it to try to hide how I feel?
I use to hide my feelings butI got to the point it was like God was REALLY trying to TIC ME OFF!!! and one day I snapped and told God how I felt and in a no holds bar way and I swear I could hear God laugh and say Well NOW we are getting somewhere!!! WELCOME TO HONESTY and you are the WORST LIER I have ever made!!!!
Things got better after that!!! but I still love to tell the story to other Christian just to see there reactions!!!

Bubbles, grats on the wedding! I have done the move home thing before as well. Some people don't understand it or look at it as if you are "mooching" off your parents, but many a household in other cultures have more than one "family" under one roof.
My roomie and I will (if we find long-term partners) still live under the same roof. Combining incomes allows for a little larger home (so you don't kill each other) and allows a little more freedom I think. I like the idea that my best friend and I will still be able to share the same place and call it home with our partners. Now we just need to find people who aren't adverse to the idea LOL
As far as me, I have finished up another semester, now only one until I graduate with my psych degree. I started a new part-time esthician job at a spa in the town next to me where the university is in. I like it. Been there about 5 weeks now. Just finished up three prom weekend ;p and this was with NO AIR CONDITIONING in 85+ degree weather and our spa is located in a tri-business (apothecary and tea room on bottom floor) where we are on the second "loft" floor above the kitchen to the tea room (which is open for that "intimate" feel). Worked 38 hours in the last week.. so not bad for part time LOL
Other than that.. life has no complaints at the moment.
****
I agree about the pray hard enough. Some members of my family doubted themselves when mom didn't get better (cancer, stage 4) and passed away. They thought they didn't pray hard enough, long enough, often enough, or their faith wasn't as strong as they needed.
I agree about the arguing with G-d. I think that being honest is the best policy so when you are [censored], be [censored]. When you are sad and needy, be sad and needy. honesty is better than only hoping for the best or only praying to want!
