Brainwave meditation is the same as in the case of other forms of meditation except that is it used with music and binaural beats as you meditate.

The purpose of brainwave meditation sessions is to travel through your thoughts and mind to improve your perception to various stimulus thereby developing your awareness as you meditate.

Thanks to scientific research and many thousands of electroencephalograph reading studies, these frequencies have long been well-known to the community. And here they are:
Delta 1 - 3 Hz Deep sleep, lucid dreaming, increased immune functions
Theta 4 - 7 Hz Deep relaxation, meditation, increased memory, focus
Alpha 8 - 12 Hz Light relaxation, "superlearning", positive thinking
Beta 13 - 25 Hz Normal state of alertness, stress, anxiety

Scientific concept on this type of meditating is based on the binaural beats where the brain recieves various audio stimulants and signals with certain frequency. It reacts and responds to these signals.

mmm I tried one of those CDs and it was like a finger nail down a chalk board!! it hurt my ears and my brain rung!!! I wonder if that is a bad sign? maybe it was the CD?
