Hi Ladies! I'm brandy new here, so nice to meet you all.

I'm planning a home water birth for October, and I was wondering if any of the ladies here who've been there/done that before might have any good suggestions for a newbie? I've done lots of research and stuff, but I think nothing can beat the advice of people who've actually done it. What things did you have on hand that you couldn't have done without? Any tips on relaxation? Or any hubby training techniques?

Thanks in advance! I'm looking forward to learning some stuff. grin

Hi Sarah!
Feel free to contact me thru the Bella Pregnancy site (contact page) if you want to talk more...I'd love that!
Anyway, I have had 2 waterbirths (my last was last October) and I wouldn't do it any other way. I also assist at home waterbirths (midwifery apprentice, I am) so I can answer any questions as far as pools, etc. I used (and we use for clients) a La Bassine pool which is great. You have to be able to sump water out if needed. This pool is big enough if your husband wants to get in, too. I didn't do anything else special, just made sure my husband knew set up and stuff since he didn't have the pool ready in time for our first waterbirth.
Anyway, ask away, or contact me!
