The code html adds can be removed.Just before you upload them open them with a notepad editor and take out the code. <img src="/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

I have good experience with HTML coding and i must say after getting used to clean pages that HTML coding produces, frontpage is a drag with too much unnecessary code that it incorporates in the processs. Why go through the process of removing it in notepad?

Dreamweaver wins the day. And especially that it works almost flawless with flash and fireworks, its a good software to start off with if you are looking to easily enhance your site one day.

Coming from years working as a web designer and server administrator Dreamweaver is far superior to Frontpage, both on the user and server level. Frontpage creates so many problems with compatibility for browsers since it is a microsoft product. I also agree with rolen that it produces horrible code. Also you do not need special extensions in your webserver in-order for dreamweaver to work. (I can only speak for the versions i have admin'd).

I would prefer Dreamweaver. Cool, user-friendly & powerful.

I find frontpage easier to use.

Microsoft is phasing out FrontPage. The are releasing a new suite of software called Expression. Microsoft probably will not be upgrading FrontPage again.
