I need help getting the Key item "Mark of Conquest".
Does nebody know how to get it?
And what is a Dark Aeon and Penance?

You might want to read through the other threads here, quite a few give details on the dark aeons.

I haven't heard of the Mark of Conquest, I don't think, has anybody else? What is it supposed to do?

The Mark of Conquest is possible the hardest thing to get in FFX.

You win it for defeating Nemisis in the Monster Arena, Nemisis must have close to 100 million HP (Yes, you read that right <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> ) and hits for 99,999 almost every hit. (Well, I counted and had done 56 million damage to him and he was still standing!!!)

I haven't beaten him yet despite many, many attempts.

To get him you have to captured ten of every creature in the game (Getting ten toonberrys from the cave of the stolen fayth is the biggest pain, as he seems to spawn very very rarely)

Then you have to beat all ten of the original creations from the arena. To get the originals you have to have created all of the species conquests.

It's a tall order, but achievable. it took me about twenty hours all told on my game clock to get them all, and still get nowhere close to beating nemsis.

If you get five of each monster head straight to the Arena, the guy there will make the otiginal monster Ultima Buster, but the real gem is that your reward is 99 Dark Matters which allows you to break damage limit on whoever you want!

I read that Penance is a boss you can fight after defeating all the Dark Aeons
