There has been a debate about this label for a long time now. I would be interested in knowing how someone practices Christian WIcca.

I'm not really sure how this would work either, but it might have something to do with Santeria, the Cubo-African faith that mixes pagan gods with Catholic saints. Or it might simply be that she views Wiccan rituals as a type of prayer that she offers up to the Christian God, or perhaps Mary, rather than to Isis, Diana, Kali, Thor, or Horus.

I wonder why the questions offend her... I could understand that she would be criticized by other Christians for this belief, but why not explain to her fellow coven members?

I guess we would give you more formative replies if we knew the nature of the questions she takes offense at, and why.... May it also depend on the tone in which they are placed...? You could do worse than invite her to join us on the website here....

And, Christianity holds a lot of ideas that could transfer to Wicca. Think of Jesus as The God and Mary as The Goddess. It wouldn't really be any different than working with other specific gods and goddesses.

Christian witches. Are you kidding me? Talk about oxymorons. Witchcraft is abomination to the Lord and if this person gets offended with questions about her religion, then she is either ashamed of her Christianity or her wiccan beliefs.

Yes, Amadeus, but remember that at the time of Christ Science was off the agenda, and many people resorted to using herbal remedies for ailments, and relying on nature for everything they did. They lived their lives according to the whims of the elements, and some people saw certain phenomena as supernatural, mystical or mysterious.... things that many today would view as hocus-pocus or deluded. "witchcraft" as condemned by the Bible, is far removed from Wicca practises followed today by people whose sole purpose in Life is to do no harm, to live in harmony with Nature, and to do good for others.
When we look at certain phenomena in the Bible, such as spiritual people being hidden by a cloud, or certain curses/miracles wrought by God, you take these as manifestations of God's presence and Will. Others though, might also dismiss them as freaks or incidents which might be explained away in a more logical fashion. So you see, once again, perception needs to be addressed, and matters viewed from more than one stance.

I think it's only an abomination to close-minded, super conservative Christians. I have friends who are Christian who are quite open-minded about me being a Pagan. And, since there are so many pantheons available to Pagans, I don't know why adopting a Christian pantheon would be a bad thing... To each their own.

Hey I am all about herbal remedies and doing no harm and living in harmony but Wiccans do not worship the Christian God or Jesus, right?

Don't Wiccans have some other belief system than the Christian belief system and if so, how can one who follows that claim to be a Christian at the same time. I guess that is what I do not understand.

Enlighten me, please.
