Who knew? sick

Seems lots of people are having a LOT of trouble with the Park Slope, Brooklyn mom who saw no problem with changing a diaper in the middle of a crowded NYC cafe:

Yuck, that's just gross. I don't want to have to see or smell a dirty baby diaper while I'm in a restaurant! (I don't want to see/smell it ANYTIME, but especially not a restaurant!)

People...just....don't....think!!!!!

Whoa. Love your comment bonsai. I agree with another comment or two- if hands could be washed in the restroom, why couldn't the diaper be changed in there as well? And the whole tone was definitely pretty smug. Geez.

I can't believe some of those responses ... "what else were they to do?" etc. Makes me see red.

Thanks, EmeraldWeds!

These Entitlemoms want it both ways: they'd like to breastfeed in restaurants (which I have no problem with if they're DISCREET) because "their kid shouldn't have to eat in a bathroom".

OK...fine.

I DON'T WANT TO EAT IN YOUR KID'S BATHROOM, either. Don't change diapers in the middle of a dining establishment.

The argument that the bathroom was "out of order" was completely specious. There wasn't a *thing* about the diaper change which required running water (witness its completion, in poor taste, in the dining room proper).

Location, location, location!

Oh my goodness. I am a parent and would never dream of doing that to others around me. How embarassing! That's just like letting your kid scream and scream at a resturant or at the grocery store. My kids have never done that by my brother as soon as his kids start in, he will leave. Who wants to go to a cafe' and see some baby's rear end.

Just wrong. Hard to believe some posters didn't get why it was illegal - didn't even get the sanitary issue. I don't think that my opposition to being exposed to the stink of some kid's [censored] while I'm dining out makes me "uptight".
