Its easy to maintain weight while eating sunflower seeds because they are quite fattening. Does he eat anything other than the fruits, veggies & sunflower seeds? How about eggs? pasta? any cooked or baked foods? What veggies is he eating?

I found a table showing foods rated as great - good - not so good for quakers and these would apply to most birds

I could suggest something that would help him transition to veggies, beanies and get all his vitamins too....., lol. whistle

Philip, I am also in the process of transitioning a Quaker who was fed ONLY sunflower seeds for 20 yrs to a more healthy diet. Today, he found that he liked fresh broccoli, green beans and fresh orange! grin

I almost forgot to tell you how cute he was- looks like a real little mischief maker-watch out! laugh
