Just wondering how often you all do baths. My little one is 11 months (today) smile We don't do baths every night, and I get some crazy looks from my mom. Wondering what other moms are doing.

Hi Jackie!
Welcome to the Early Childhood Forum. My boys (almost three years old) get baths everyday. They get FILTHY playing outside. Bella (11 months) however only gets baths every 2 or 3 days, but I do wipe her face, feet and hands before bed every night. She has some small patches of eczema and water is VERY drying. Also I never use soap on her face, just a little tepid water.

At our house baths were daily. When the kids were out of diapers we had filthy Friday, the day they didn't have to bathe. If you think about it, babies in diapers wake up and yuck. They sleep much better after a warm bath as well. (I believe). I like to shower every day, so I guess I think they would like it every day as well.

When my son was little, he had a bath every evening before bed. I also believe that they fall asleep more easily. It's a nice way to wind down. Then into clean jammies, read a story together, and time for sleep.

When our daughter was little she had a bath every other day. She is now 2 1/2 and gets one everyday. It's just a part of our evening routine. However, her hair is only washed every other day.

My kids (3 1/2 and 1 1/2) take baths every night. This is mostly because my oldest has never been a good sleeper and taking a bath really helps settle her down.

My kids always took baths everynight, and still do! Although my 9 year old BOY likes to argue he did not play out side today so why should he have to take a bath?

Unless they were not outside or spent the day at the pool...then I just rinsed them in the shower to get off the chlorine.

My 4 month old gets a bath every night, he seems to need it to settle down. After a bath and nice comfy clothes and a soft blanket to hold he will fall asleep eating and sleep all night. My 4 year old dd gets a bath every other night depending on how hard she played that day and how dirty she is. Sometimes I will just stand her up and spongebathe her if I don't have time for a long bathtime.

Baths in my house would depend on the season - Winter every other night - summer every night. I did it that way because in summer my kids were filthy by bedtime, but in winter they weren't that dirty and their skin would get dry with too many baths.
