When we moved here there were two beautiful pine trees and both made it thru the first winter but now one of them the needles have turned brown, they are dry and fall off at the touch, there is still some green but not alot. I did fertilize last spring but what would make this happen ? It's not looking too good right now any suggestions ? I did check the base of the tree to see if the wild rabbitts had gotten to it but the trunk looks good. Any help would be appreciated.

Are they really pine trees or are they some other kind of evergreen? Some varieties of evergreen are more suseptible to disease. I have a few that are dying in my yard as well.

Let me know what they are and I will see what I can find out, and maybe someone here will have some ideas for you.

Thanks Jackie,

I did figure out my problem, we apparently did not get enough moisture this winter and we also have had higher temperatures than normal. I discovered that while I was weeding, ground is very dry so I have been watering it and it seems to be coming back.
