Which is your opinions and not a fact for everyone concerned.
Controller preferrances is a very subjective thing, and while alot of the PS2 fans know how to [censored] and moan about how differant the controllers are on the XBox and GameCube, they often neglect to remember, that a simple & cheap converter will let them use their PS2 controllers on other consoles as well. I have one hooked up to my GameCube right now, just in case some PS2 fanatic might want to join in on a multiplayer game.
Personally I prefer the big XBox controllers, as the tiny PS2 controllers make my pinky go numb after an hour or so. The bigger size lets my hands rest more comfortably.
So... with the controllers not really being an issue while determining a winner, lets move on to something more deserving of mention.
Hardware really isn't that big a deal, as both the XBox and the GameCube have some impressive specs. The PS2 is obviously the loser in this category, but who cares, as long as they make games for it that has alot of good gameplay elements? (yes I love both FFX and GTA)
The slight differance in specs XBox contra GameCube, lets the developers use a bit better tekstures on an XBox game, but usually people won't even be spot a differance since both systems really shine on graphics.
While on the subject of graphics... pre-rendered non-gameplay non-interactive movies is not... and I stress NOT... proof that the PS2 can do great graphics, as all it takes render it, is about a 4MB 2D capable graphics card and a wee pint of processor power. What it IS proof of however is that SquareSoft is damn good at making pretty movies. While I do love FFX, the actual in game graphics aren't really anything worth writing home about, when compared to move graphically oriented games on the more powerful consoles.
As a last note I'd like to state, that the graphics on an XBox is not better then what you can get on a PC, as one of the first posts in this discussion claimed. The XBox is ranked somewhere between a GeForce 3 and a GeForce 4, when it comes to effects, and there's no option to pick resolution in a console game. Anyone with a GeForce4, Radeon 9500 or Radeon 9700 can get more advanced 3D effects and at a higher resolution = much better graphics.
Games is completely subjective matter, so I won't even bother to make a claim as to which platform has the best selection. To do so is somewhat silly. To each his own and I enjoy both my PC, PS2, GameCube and the enormous black box under my TV.
What did I vote for? My PC of course.
1: PC
2: XBox
3: PS2
4: GameCube
I'm pretty sure the GameCube will get a better listing once I get some more games for it. Right now I just don't see too many I'd want to pay for, but I know of quite a few titles that are in developement... <img src="/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
