I just published "Smoking, Fibrinogen and Cancer Mortality" in the Journal of the National Medical Association. Cancer mortality is related to fibrinogen, a hemostatic factor that is important for tumor promotion of new blood vessel formation and metastatic potential. Cancer mortality risk due to fibrinogen levels is greater among African Americans than among Caucasians.
