Well, I own Baulder's Gate, and I wanted to know just some basic tips for it.

That's an EXCELLENT game, and of course spawned all sorts of other games that got better and better.

I think the main tip is to explore everywhere. There are all sorts of monsters hiding in corners with special weapons. Also, make sure you understand how magic works and practice with it. Fight everything you can, because those experience points you get really help you get more powerful. Go on all the quests too.

In short, don't just race through to the end. Take your time, explore, dally, talk. The longer it takes you, the more powerful you are near the end and the less frustrated you are <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I've been playin' the game for a while now, and I have some awesome tips:
1) When you start the game, make your 1st character (the one you design), make him/her good with missle weopons or with bows/arrows.
2) If anyone attacks you, make your 1st character step away from the enemy and use his/her long-range weopon.
3) If you have a chance to let anyone into your group, see what thing they are (i.e. bard, ranger, mage, theif...); If you don't have one of his kind in your group (and you don't already have 5 companions), or you have one of his kind, but someone not as good, let the new guy in.
4) Be a mage, a ranger, a theif, or a multi-class of those that contains mage.
5) If it comes down to it, sacrifice ONLY the worst men/women on your team. DON'T sacrifice yourself, EVER!
6) Put potions of healing and such in the QUICK ITEMS section.

oh and here are the tips i always use

- my main charackter is always a good fighter or paladin, sometimes ranger, because he has the most hp, so doesn't die of a sprung trap
- I like the multyplayer games the most, u can geneerate ur own groupe, all made by u!
- Use 'magic missile' a lot, especially when fighting mages, the chance of casting failure to a mage when hit by it is almost 100%! except when fighting high lvl mages
- My main character always has long sword profincies to the max, and every other profincie slot u have left in the missile weapon group for the sling
- I always try to give my charackters other abilities, my thieve short sword, my fighters get long sword, axes, bows. My mages get staff weapons, slings, if any left darts.
- Always try to explore every map, so that im strong enough to get along the story line well. Or if i know that im going to battle a strong mage:)

well if any questions mail me at kaasbaas1000@hotmail.com or reply to this reply:)
