Hi! My name is Janice Rickard and I just joined BellaOnline today. I've been looking for a place that was just for women and you could talk about all kinds of different things, ask questions, get support, make friends, etc. So far, I think this is a great site and I'm looking forward to chatting with other women.
I just wanted to introduce myself and tell you a little about me, which I hope won't be too boring.
I'm married, have one beautiful daughter named Katherine, who is six and extremely active and two cats who are also my children.(At least, it seems that way).
Anyway, I have always been very interested in cosmetics and skincare and when I did a career change, I decided to get my license as an esthetician. As I did my training, I starting learning about aromatherapy and essential oils and natural ingredients. Then I really started reading labels and finding out about all the harmful chemicals and preservatives that are in the store brand products. I knew there were natural skincare products out there, but I discovered they were kind of pricey. So I started learining how to make my own and I found out I could make really good quality skincare products for a fraction of the cost of the name brand products. I was hooked and I haven't used commerical brand products on my skin since I started making my own stuff and my skin has never looked so good and I'll be 51 this year!
I've just started my own skincare business in September 2006 so it's pretty brand new. My mission is to provide quality handcrafted skincare products that are affordable to anyone who is interested in taking better care of their skin without the harmful chemicals and preservatives in them.
Here's what I offer: Handmilled soaps like orange, rosewater and glycerin, lavender and oatmeal, calendula and oatmeal, gardener's soap and luscious body soap. Facial care that includes day and night time facial lotions, skin toners, eye cream, eye make-up remover and tinted moisturizer. Luscious body creams like Fresh Citrus, Romance and Rapsody; and I'm seriously thinking about adding a Dark Chocolate/Black Cherry very soon. Doesn't that sound yummy? There's also a peppermint foot cream, a hand cream, a wonderful calendula cream and a lemon balm cream that actually helps keeps the bugs off when you're outside. There's also body massage oils and lip balms/glosses.
All of my products are made with natural ingredients like vegetable oils, shea butter, cocoa butter, vegetable emulsifying wax, natural infused oils, infused waters like rose and lavender and I only use natural preservatives like Vitamin E oil, Grapefruit Seed Extract and potassium sorbate. And I definitely use pure essential oils like rose, lavender, lemon, lime, tangerine, peppermint and some others not so well known like Ylang-Ylang, Bergamot, Patcholi, Palmarosa, Carrot Seed, Seabuckthorn, etc.
I really encourage custom orders and it's so much fun to figure out different things.
If anyone is interested I do have a website for you to look at.

God Bless,
Janice
