what kind of diseases can humans catch from pet birds? i heard that and i was concerned. i have a cockateil. his name is peaches.

None that I know of.

I suppose another might be a lung problem from breathing in the feather dust from a lot of birds. Most people will not get a lung problem from the dust & some birds have more dust than others.

yeah someone told me that her friend had to get rid of all her birds b/c the doctor said to. she had some kind of respitory disease. and the doctor said it was from the birds.

She probably had a lot of birds. Just remember that there a many, many people who have a lot of birds & only a few of them have problems.
