The deal is this....
I have pretty dark brown hair. I'd like to add some highlights to it, but not tone on tone. I'm thinking more along the lines of blues and purples. L'Oreal makes a product called "Color Rays" that supposedly shows up even on the darkest of hair, but it only comes in pink, red, and a weird yellow. Anyone know of another product and where to get it?

Hey Tigress!

Loreal also makes a product called "Color Pulse", and there are a couple of purple tints in the line: Funky Purple & Chill Plum. It is actually a mousse - so it might take some playing with to do highlights, but it is only a temporary color (washes out in 8- 12 shampoos).

I used the Chill Plum, but since my hair is actually a dark blonde it lasted a lot longer on my hair (whoops!) grin

Here's the link to their site: Loreal Color Pulse

Hope this helps!

(Oh, BTW - just so you're not scared - the bald is NOT from the hair color - LOL!)

I would love to get some purple highlight in my hair but at my age I thought it would look innapropriate.

I think it is always appropriate if you dress accordingly. - Kind of trendy and not plain.

In my opinion.... age doesn't matter. Do what you want to do and what makes you happy smile

Age does NOT matter, I'm a 47 year old man who made a career change to cosmetology 5 years ago and have recently been named a "Master" Colorist in the Goldwell color education continuum.

this was not an easy thing to do.

You are as old as your heart, not your chronological years.

If YOU like it and YOU wear it well then you will be the most attractive person that YOU can be.

BellaHarmony your beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
