I read these articles too about husbands not being attracted to their wives during pregnancy, or after, or whatever, but in my own observations I don't see that. The husbands I know all seem completely whipped, and are doting on their wives. Sure they may not have been too excited about parenthood at the idea stage, but they seem all for it once it happens. Maybe I just hang out with the minority of husbands who are an exception.
I read in someone's blog once about how she had just had her baby, and moments after, was still spread-eagled on the bed with the covers thrown aside, and someone let all of her extended family into the room. Nightmare!!
I hate all this drummed up fuss, with websites and everything, for babies, weddings, anything. It is really annoying to me too. It seems to be all about getting more presents, and maximizing the attention as much as possible.

So true, Jez. Plus the whole business of having issues with sex because of the transition to thinking of their wives as a "mothers" with all the implications (and baggage) of that.
My husband's brother was talking about the birth of his son, how amazing, etc. to see him be born, how DH had no idea... we both burst out laughing because DH - God love him - passes out cold at the sight of blood! He can't handle needles or IVs or anything! The thought of him in a delivery room... I'd be the one supporting HIM (breathe, honey, just breathe)!

I visited with a friend who had a baby about 6 months ago and she was giving me the low down. They had to break her water manually so she was laying there all wet for several hours...then when she started pushing she farted on her husband! She had a sense of humor about it, which was good for her...but I listened to it and thought, "NO FLIPPIN' WAY would I want to go through all that!". Not to mention having the doctor poking around in there during the pregnancy and delivery...
Call me uptight, but there are very few people I want near my private areas, and I don't like the thought of being spread-eagled on the delivery table for all the world to see. I've always been this way about this kind of thing...I remember being a kid and being just mortified when I had to pee in the cup at the doctor! I did get over that and recognize the value, but that's about as far as I want to go!

Yet another reason I would have a hard time going through labor and delivery...I am very squeamish about blood! A C-section would be out of the question, they'd have to knock me out, because I'd pass out at the thought of it! I once nearly passed out having a mole removed! I'm such a wuss! It didn't hurt, because they had deadened me, but I started *thinking* about what they were doing....my vision started going fuzzy! I can't imagine going through labor or a C-section, where they keep you awake! I'm getting quesy right now, thinking about it! Cindy So true, Jez. So is the next logical step to put a live webcast of the birth on the site? How about one of the conception as well?
Yuck.

Guess I need to have a website recording every time my horse goes poop.
Has anyone seen the "tickers" that people put at the bottom of their posts (like in the signatures) of how many days until ovulation or how far along their baby is? Egads! Again, maybe I need a ticker for every time I'm about ready to have a movement. Anyone really interested in hearing about my bowels? Well, hell knows I'm not interested in their ovulation!!!!
Blech!

Lasting One, I love your dog! He looks like quite the character! Is he a Corgi/Corgi mix? Or Heeler? It's hard to tell from this perspective. What a cutie, either way!!! Cindy Guess I need to have a website recording every time my horse goes poop.
