BellaOnline Forums Hobbies and Crafts Crochet HELP PLEASE W/PATTERN & "SPACES"

The pattern says
ROW 3: Sl st in each of next 2 chs, (ch 4, sc in next ch-4 sp)3
times, ...etc etc
I need a picture to understand WHAT SPACE they are talking about and all the web sites just say sp means SPACE. I am stumped.
By the way, this is for edging I am going to put on pillow slips & maybe sheets for my friends wedding present it is called 'Grand Baroque Edging'.

The spaces they are talking about are from the pattern in the previous row or rows. It is the space between stitches in the previous rows. For instance, if you did a row of treble crochet, there is a space between each line of treble crochet.
