Amadeus, you are a moron. I am getting personal only because you attacked pondlady with your statement "How sad it must be to be you that you cannot come up with a lucid argument on your own behalf." I would imagine you wanted to say on your own and not on your own behalf but I have learned that reading down to your level takes some practise.
I am tired of both you and texasdave entirely ignoring any of my arguments and moving on to new issues.
Amadeus 's last rant is entirely unintelligent.
For example Amadeus says:
1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighbouring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
Foreign slaves could be bought, sold and inherited like other property. This does not mean that God approves of slavery. He made laws to ameliorate the practises of that time.
So God says,"gee this slavery thing is sure hard on those people who are slaves. How can I make it easier for people? Hmm, I know. I will make a law that says just have slaves from neighbouring countries. That way if somebody is gonna be a slave they don't need to go through the degradation of having their fellow citizens see them." Why would God not just say "don't own slaves at all." Is he a f&%#ing idiot? It sure sounds like it to me. If there was a god who did that he is not worthy of my worship.
I refer to the above argument against all your stupid women slavery explanations too.
Then you say:
4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odour for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is, my neighbours. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
That statement is just idiotic because it is referring to God not actually eating the animal as the pagans had thought He did.
What does your sentence mean? Do you read or write English? Let me clarify: The bible says the burning of a bull causes a pleasing odour for the lord. If I am burning a bull for the lord and my neighbours complain should I smite them? That is what the writter of the letter is asking. Amadeus goes on to talk about God eating meat and pagans. I honestly don't know his point here.
Leviticus 19:19 does not say anything about planting two different crops, it reads that you shall not mix the seeds together and plant them. It also states that you should not let your livestock breed with another kind and it also doesn't say anything about mixing threads it states you cannot mix linen with wool.
Oh thank god, this explanation is much more intelligent. Burn in hell you breeders of Labradoodles and the guy who invented the mule. Die you heathens who mix pansies with daisies and may god strike down all those who have linen and wool blankets(actually I'm not sure if there are linen and wool blankets, but if there were...)
and your studies of swine brought you to this conclusion:
The swine is the best known of the unclean animals and continues to be avoided by Jews and Muslims. The swine was mostly eaten by the Israelite neighbours in both the Old and New Testament periods. All the reasons as labelling an animal unclean fit the swine: 1) Inadequately cooked pork could transmit disease to humans. 2) pigs were sacrificed to pagan dieties. 3) because pork tasted good, refusing it would be a suitable test of faithfulness and obedience.
...and we all know that inadequately cooked chicken is really good for you. And pork tastes good, thats right we all know that pork tastes better than everything. Oh wait, I thought taste was a personal preference. So for those who don't like pork there is no test of obedience at all.
I am going to stop now because I actually have other things to do but if you want me to go through the second half of your post I will. Suffice as to say I have read it and it can be as easily attributed to rubbish as the first half. It was nothing more than a truly unintelligible rant of someone who has been indoctrinated for so long and has completely forfeited their right and duty as a human being to think, question and demand evidence.
