It's definitely spring! There are robins in our yard now! I saw them in a neighbor's yard down the street a day or two ago, but they're actually at our house now. I love it! That flash of color, the hunting for worms. It's a sure sign of spring.
Are robins where you are?

Lucky you. We've got geese back, but no sign of any Robins yet. Guess the snow still covering the ground makes it kind of hard to find worms.

We had snow until last week, and we also had a thick layer of leaves because we'd never raked them up. So this past weekend we went out and raked up all the leaves and put them out into the forest to compost. That finally let the grass be bare, which is why I think the robins could come visit us <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Hopefully they're finding some worms to eat!
We also just saw some red-winged-blackbirds!

Here's a picture of a robin from a year or two ago. I'll try to catch a new one of one of these ones in my yard in the next day or two.

The Robins have been here in Ohio for about a month. But last weekend I saw our Toehee. He is dark brown and orange. The bluebirds are fighting with sparrows over the nesting box too.

I love towhees! We don't have ours yet. We only saw bluebirds once in the past 7 years, and that was last fall, examining one of our boxes for a day or two. Maybe they'll come back, I'm not sure.
Here are pictures of the two robins that were in our lawn today!

So, any more robin sightings out there? They're so lovely, both in sight and sound!

hello fellow bird lovers...I am so happy to find this forum. My previous connection on another site has closed down, and I've been having "chat" withdrawal. The robins returned to central NY several weeks ago, along with the dreaded grackles. As I find my way around this forum, you'll find me to be "long winded" and a "frequent poster"...lol...I look forward to meeting some of you soon.
