Lucifer as referencing satan was written as a name in the Old Testament which pre-dates 1667 by a long shot.

It is a fascinating book. Try reading the Book of John in the New Testament too.

Elle,

It's a title I got for review. I figured I'd find the part about ancient alchemical tradition and how that relates to alchemy, but learning how Egyptian mythology and other traditions had elements borrowed and added has been really interesting.

Alchemy is interesting. I'm touching on it a little in the novel I'm writing at the moment, and I must admit I read through your articles thoroughly.

'Oh, you've read the Shadow of Solomon' too have you, Lovelove?
So tell me about it.....

I wish John would tell us his real name, because a lot of Biblical scholars now acknowledge that it's just a pseudonym....

I have not read that book. What is it about?

The previous post by Rae says what the book is about.

And are you sure that the Old Testament references Satan as the morning star? Does anyone know? (I don't.) Just because it mentions Satan doesn't mean that it uses the particular reference that Rae suggested...

"All manner of man and creature are equal in the eyes of nature, and nature is God."

This quote is in The Witch of Cologne by Tobsha Learner (thus far, an excellent novel). I don't know if she wrote this, or if it is from a religious text, but I have to say that I like the gist of it.
