Seeing as I could not find a stable ed forum topic, I decided to make one myself. Basically, I just wanted to have a place where people with an ed can talk to others who understand them.

No judgement.
No harrassment.
Period.

I want to eat and eat and eat, especially when I'm anxious about something! I know healthy ways to deal with my feelings, but knowing what's best for me and caving in to what I really really want to do are two different things!

I'm actually worried about going on a binge today. I'm home alone all day, and we have lots of delicious Christmas goodies, and I'm SO excited and scared about a possible book contract.....the stage is set.

i totally understand where you are coming from. i've been dealing with that same predicament as a constant since about 4th grade (now in college.) the best thing i have found to do is to occupy myself with something like being on the internet on forums, playing games, etc. before i know it, hours have gone by, and sometimes the need to binge has subsided.

Thanks, Pink! :-) I'll definitely keep you posted. Funny, I'm all hyped up and anxious about it and so I thought I'd be eating my face off for SURE, but the cravings weren't there. I don't know why they're so strong sometimes, and other times not.

Wow, emotional eating, I totally understand Laurie, as I was 'owned' by it for over 30 years. I ate when I was happy, sad, anxious, angry or simply bored!! I gained over a 100 pounds because I couldn't control (or didn't know how to) my unconscious eating. I look back now and can clearly see where I was WAY out of control - literally!!!! I wish you the best, and looking at your picture, that looks like a great way to release some emotion, a beautiful walk on the beach!!! Sandy

I teach yoga and if you are nervous ,block your right nostril with your thumb ( other fingers straight up )and breathe in and out slowly from left nostril only until you feel better and calmer.
( 3-11 min) jsut follow the sound of your breath.
