I know I've been asking a lot of questions lately. I've just gotten back into crochet after not being able to do it for a while. Have a lot of memory jogging to do!

I have a scarf pattern I need to know the multiple for to shorten but it's not given. It starts like this. Ch 193. Row 1: Dc, ch 2, sc in 4th ch from hook, * skip next 2 ch, (2 dc, ch 2, sc) in next ch*, repeat from * to * across- 64 reps. I thought the multiple would be 3 but it just doesn't work out in my head! Please someone help!

I think it is a multiple of 3. Take 3 X 64 reps = 192 + 1 (the first (2dc,ch2,sc))= 193. The first one is actually a (ch3,dc,ch2,sc)in the 4th ch from hook.

Thanks for the info on the pattern I want to make. I'm having to make a lot of changes, hook size, length, etc. Wouldn't fool with it but love the look of the pattern stitch. You do the same thing I asked about in the following rows for the pattern.
