BellaOnline Forums Relationships Married No Kids Cant I just be sick!!!

Yesterday at work I got really really sick, still sick now hence why I am up at 2 am. anyway Im a teacher with special education students who are very moody. I told my colleagues and assistant teachers to put a movie on for the kids because I just couldnt teach the class. I had to keep leaving the room to vomit. They saw how pale I was and new I was nascious so they all start saying uhoh you must be pregnant. I was really not in hte mood as I felt deathly sick, still do, and could not go home due to board of ed policy plus I didnt want to puke on the bus. IThey now Im undecided about kids and they question me about it a lot cause I love the kids I work wiht and other peoples kids, they dont understnad me not wanting my own. I finally told the one women who wouldnt shut up that it was not possible and she preceeded to tell me about all the birth contorl babies she new! At least some of my coworkers where on my side and finally one women (with 4 kids) told them all to shut up and leave me alone.

Oh, what a pain. Sorry you had to deal with that on top of the flu or whatever it was! I hope you feel better soon. :-)

tubby, working with moody kids has GOT to be stressful...I'm really sorry you're feeling this way.

Next time they say idiotic things like that, I'd give two words: food poisoning. If they persist, I'd mention that I got it from EATING too many kids.

I don't understand the fascination other people have with our private lives. I bought a dress on our honeymoon (many years ago now) that was very loose cut, but I thought it was cute. However I only wore it to work once or twice because this one guy made comments about why I was wearing it.

people just love getting into other peoples business, i think of it as so long as there talking about me there leaving someone else alone, hehe hope she dosen't catch what you have, and i hope your feeling better

If you're still feeling sick to your stomach and there's a Trader Joe's or Whole Foods Market near you, get some Reed's Ginger Ale (It's about $4 per 4-pack). It's brewed with real ginger that will soothe your stomach. Good luck and hope you get to feeling better!

Thanks so much for your support! I do feel better but I have a stomach virus and need to take antibacterials. At least I get a day or two away from my coworkrs. Honestly its the adults at my job that drive me crazy, the kids never do, and the kids who have the severe problems (supposedly)

I hope you're feeling better. My coworkers (who all have children) used to say the same thing every time I felt even a cold coming on, even knowing that I don't want children. It didn't hurt my feelings or anything, but it was just really, really annoying.

You know how I got them to stop? Every single time they said they weren't feeling well I said, "Maybe you're pregnant!" I guess that after having a taste of their own medicine they realized how annoying it was.
