BellaOnline Forums Computers PC Advice Cursor won't behave

I have a new computer, Adesso keyboard without the mouse (like a laptop), and loads of new software.

Whenever I type, the cursor takes it upon itself to move up a couple of lines, back in the line, even down a couple of lines. It's driving me nutz. Anyone have any ideas? Could I have toggled something in by accident?

Are you sure your wrists aren't resting on the finger-mouse-pad thingy? (Technical term, 'thingy'....)
I do that sometimes, and the mouse goes dooo-lally....

Other than that, I'm not sure, other than either getting into your control panel and checking the mouse sttings - or getting a manual mouse - !

Nope, not resting wrists. I got this keyboard to prevent frozen shoulder (diabetic), and the mousework makes it worse, so I really like this style. I've been onto the keyboard makers, and lo...they're sending out a new one. It's likely the keyboard.

Good luck. I've had this happen with each and every laptop I have had (all 7 of 'em, by various manufacturers) that had either the small track ball thingy built into the key pad or had the touch pad below the keypad. They all jump around--they're just too sensitive.

If you disable the touch pad and the track ball and just use a regular mouse, the problems stops. At least on mine.
