Unfortunately, these primers cannot be obtained after you progress past their point in the plot. Your only option would be to reload a previous save point if you have it.

If you can't manage to get your hands on them, you can pick them up on your next play through. There are points throughout the game where you can import your dictionary from another games save. This makes it so you only need to pick up the ones you missed on your previous play through.

If you get most of them, you should have plenty to understand what they are saying. The only thing you will be missing is receiving 99x Door To Tomorrow (I think) from Rin.

I don't remember getting 99x Door to Tomorrow from Rin - I thought that he gives you a Mega Potion as well as an Al Bhed Primer at the hut in Mi'ihen.

Once you have all 26 primers, if you talk to Rin on the Airship. He will give you 99 of an item. I am pretty sure it is Door To Tomorrow.

Damn primers....

Without a walkthrough it's impossible to find them all.

Am I the only one annoyed by the fact than nowadays withtout a walkthrough there is almost no way you can find everything in a game ???

Well but the game makers want the game to be played for months, so you enjoy all its detail. So instead of zipping through a map to get to the next one, you're supposed to explore all the nooks and crannies. I don't consider that to be a bad thing myself ...

The primers in FFX don't require a guide at all. The ones at Home are the only ones that are missable, and none of them are hidden in really odd areas. Given that you can load them into your game from a previous save, I would expect anyone to be able to find them with in 2 or 3 playthroughs. If you are missing one or two that is where places like this forum will work just as well as a guide, and for free.
