It's been a rough year, guys. My son had an emergency appendectomy that resulted in a severe infection and I had to administer IV antibiotics through a line going to his heart every six hours for two weeks. It was really touch and go but he recovered well.

My father died suddenly in June after a few day illness and it was horrible. How he died, why, and everything else. He died a few days before my mother's 10th year anniversary of her death.

Then in late October, my sister had a burst brain aneurysm and a stroke during surgery to try to repair it. This was particularly scary because my mother died of a brain aneurysm. My sister survived but has a VERY long way to go and will never be the same. I had to leave at that point because she was so critical and I was needed at the hospital because, without people there all the time, that hospital would have killed her.

Then I had to go to Johns Hopkins Hospital six hours away for some crucial testing and when I got home, I had to have a test to see if *I* have a brain aneurysm since now I have an 80% chance of developing one because it runs in families.

So far, I do not have one but will be tested every year and will eventually probably develop one. The hope is that we catch it before it bursts so we can repair it before it does damage or kills me.

Yikes and that is only a little of what 2006 brought.

BUT!

I am back and have posted a new column and will be here at least once a week. Please continue posting and discussing.

I have a lot of catching up to do and am doing that now.

Also, please visit me at some of my other sites! I am working my tail off!

Anyway, I am back and wanted to say HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and thanks for your support.

Let's just hope I can STAY back, eh? <img src="/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

...And to think I was getting a bit worried because my nails have started flaking....

I will meditate on sending you Much metta and Karuna, and hope that 2007 brings you Peace of Mind, Joy and Serenity.....

And just in case you are curious.....

Metta (Unconditional Love)is one of four sublime states or 'divine abidings', the others being Compassion (karuna); Sympathetic Joy (mudita) and Equanimity, or Calmness, composure, peace of mind (uppekha). Like metta, these states can form the focus of meditation and are a means of reflecting on qualities that are very important to spiritual progress. So...

May All Beings Be Happy!

Celebrate we shall! Glad to have you back. And I'm sure I speak for all when I say, how sorry I am that you had such a hard time of it last year (and the year before too).

Anyway, keep smiling and know that we all do care for you and as the others have said, wish you an excellent 2007.

PS. I do have an admission to make. I had all but pulled the plug on the forum as it had become soo infrequently visited. (not so much by you, but by all of us). So I hope we all grab the ball again and run with it, 'cause this is the place to be

Yes Patty Welcome back. I am praying for you and your family and am praying that 2007 will be a banner year for you.

No one person should have to go through what you went through last year and for the most part, everyone is healthy.

My ex-wife's boyfriend died from a brain aneurysm. He was having bad headaches and when my ex took him to the hospital to get it checked out, he died right there in the car on the way to the hospital.

Your sister may never be the same but be thankful, and I know you are, that she is alive.

We had a rough time down here as well (my mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, but it was caught early and she is OK now), but I could never imagine how hard the last year has been for you. Hopefully the new year brings some calm after the storm, and of course better health for your family, and your good self, Queen Patty!

I am sorry to hear that Cat. Any cancer is very scary. Glad it was caught early!

I guess we all had ups and downs last year and the ups and downs continue in 2007. Still, so far the first 22 days haven't been disastrous so I am happy.

Now I am scared I jinxed myself!

Thanks all for the good wishes and the welcome back. Let's get this new forum hopping. It's so "blue" without us. Heheh.

Ok. So here's some good news ya'll.

My wife and I (well, my wife anyway) are pregnant. 8weeks + now.
We lost one last year, so we're pretty stoked that so far it's all been smooth sailing as far as the Prenancy health. Ella (my wife) has been spending abit of time Hurling though. Sheesh, who'd want to be a girl hey? smile

Tik'

All the best to everyone!!
