I hope she has passed it by now Phillip.
Sorry I didn't see this any earlier.
She should be kept in a very warm container, with no perches and plenty of water close to her as the heat will make her thirsty. Please let us know how she is.

It doesn't sound as if she was eggbound Phillip. If she was, she would have either passed it by now or would be extremely ill or dead. I'm trying to think if I have ever heard of a Cockatiel reabsorbing an egg and I'm thinking that I may have heard of it, but I don't know of any for sure. This might be a question for your vet. Did the vet determind that she actually WAS eggbound when you brought her in?

One thing you will learn about breeding birds, Phillip is that you will always just have to wait & see what they will do. One pair will start to lay eggs very soon after mating and others will not. It doesn't sound as if your hen was actually eggbound unless she laid the egg (maybe on the floor) and you just haven't found it. I really hope that she wasn't eggbound, because she shouldn't be breeding this soon afterwards. You probably should have kept her away from the male to let her regain her strength.
