Pam I haven't been here in a few days because life is hectic <G> but I wanted to comment on a few things. I haven't had a chance to see your pictures yet but if your tiels are pied, any tiel breeder will be able to visually sex them for you. I have a pied hen that I thought was a male back when I first got him (I still refer to him as a male, old habits are hard to break - lol!) because I was told he was. Also, he has the really bright orange cheek patches, and sings and is every bit as noisy as any male, it is constant. But after a couple of years a breeder told me he's really a she, and several others have said, "But that's obvious!" lol, well maybe to THEM but I know nothing about tiel genetics or colors . My other cockatiel is an old male normal grey who will be 23 this spring...easy to sex .

The original behavior you wrote about is really typical hen behavior when they want to mate. You will see it a lot over the years!

It sure sounds like you have some wonderful pets there, they sound really cute and I can tell you love them a lot .
