Bella is "The Voice of Women"! So why is there no post yet about the fact that for the very first time in American history, there is a woman Speaker of the House, which, by the way, places her next on the succession list should the "President" and "Vice President" get what they deserve and be removed from office. This is another first for women in the US. Let's rejoice! I'm 56 and I'm amazed at the expansion in the possibilities for women in the time I've been around.

Considering what Pelosi's House has done in the two days it has been running, I'd say she may end up being one of the very best. Forcing Congressmen to put their names to pork projects so they can be neld accountable and forcing any cuts or spending proposals to be balanced by their opposites in Pay-As-You-Go is excellent. Not to mention prohibiting Congressmen from traveling in corporate jets and accepting other in-kind bribes. In two day?! Wow! Exactly which of those are you against, Jim?
Not to mention the barefaced rudeness of Haskert refusing to go along with the tradition of personally handing over the gavel.

Pelosi is wonderful so far. I only hope she can maintain her strong stance and show those hidebound right wing idiots how wrong they are.

For Pelosi's touting of ethics she's not doing a good job in leading the way.
The federal minimum wage increase is a prime example. The house passed affects every state and US territory except American Somoa. The largest employer on American Somoa is StarKist tuna--owned by DelMonte. Their home office is in Nancy Pelosi's district. Pelosi's husband owns $17 million in DelMonte stock.
