thank you for your reply's she has continued to do this now a few more times seems to do it when I am sitting on the floor next to her cage watching TV. and stops when I talk to her or look at her. it is very odd. I am trying to post a link to my website if you go to my zoo you will see some pictures of both of them.
Thank you again, I will keep you posted with any news.

Thanks for posting your pets page Pam. Your birds are very pretty and so is your cat. Glad things are working out for your tiel and that this was only a scare.

One question though. I couldn't figure out what was in the stall with that horse. What is that?

I'm sorry, but I'm not sure I understand what it is that you're asking Pam.

Sorry Pam. I should have realized what your question was.

OK - looking at the pictures - its hard to tell. They both look like they are pied and that is the one colour that is very difficult to tell by sight. The whiteface one though I think might be a male because he has quite a bit of white on his head. The other one is probably a female, but I wouldn't say for sure.

Sorry - guess thats not too much help. Is that what you were thinking they were - or the opposite?

Thanks... that is what I was thinking and that is what I was told by one vet also. I know that ther is no way to be sure unless I have them sexed, I may end up doing it just to know. I have been doing some reading about breeding and that it is really not a good idea to breed them if you want to keep them as pets.... AND I DO. They are way to much fun and loving for me to give that up with them.
Thank you for all of your help and replys. I found this site by accident trying to find out what my be wrong with my baby and think I will continue posting and reading here because you all seen so nice

You can also tell their sex by their behaviour Pam. What your female was doing sounds very much like a female would do. Does the other one sing? Only males sing. Females are often (but not always) cuddlier.

I'm glad that you think this is a friendly forum. We certainly try to make it so and I hope you'll join into many of the conversations here. Maybe you can drop into one of our Saturday evening chats as well.
