I have a question: If a couple does not want children, will the Catholic church refuse to marry them?
To have children is not a compulsory proviso in any religion, though contraception is frowned upon in the Catholic church - a 'regulation' both frowned upon and even ignored by many devout and married Catholics. But if a couple genuinely can't have children, for reasons of health - or even age - this is not used as a weapon against them...The sanctity of Marriage, and the bearing of children is mentioned in the marriage ceremony. But a couple is not obligated by any form of Catholic law to have children.
