2007 looms and it is time to think about New Years resolutions!!

How many do you normally make (and more importantly keep!). Ive learnt over the years to make resolutions that are at least a tiny bit feasible and that means keeping them a little bit vague! Whilst I might well manage to lead a slightly more healthy lifestyle I am extremely unlikely to take up early morning daily jogging, however much of a good idea I convince myself that this is on News Years Eve!

So taking that into account what are my New Year Crochet Resolutions going to be?

WIPs (Work in Progress). I WILL finish my WIPs and those that I fear will never see the light of day will be reviewed and I will see if I can make something else from them. That mohair blanket I started [mumble] years ago WILL see the light of day either as a blanket or in a different incarnation!

Yarn - I will decide what I am going to make before buying yarn rather than the other way around and finding I dont have enough when I finally make up my mind what the project is going to be.

Write things down I am going to keep a crochet notebook with me AT ALL TIMES! So when I have bright ideas I can note them down or get inspiration for designs I can sketch them rather than struggle to remember at a later date.

Charity I will ensure that I make and donate items for a good cause or charity throughout the year.

What Crochet New Years Resolutions are everyone else making??

Like you I want to finish up WIPs. I've made a good start on using up the yarn I have in storage area. In fact I only have 2 skeins of a fluffy yarn to make a scarf for my DIL and 3 skeins of simply soft bulky for one for a friend. I do have several baskets full of "little bits of yarn" to use for Warm Up America. My best resolution is to crochet the Warm Up America squares as I finish a project. That way I won't have balls of yarn laying around that the cat enjoys playing with.

I do have the yarn to create a small afghan of simply soft in grape and white that will go to a nursing home next winter. I'll have to buy more white but I can always justify that with a Michaels or Joanns coupon.

Then I'll have to go through my notebooks and files to see what strikes me as a good WIM project and then (oh darn) will have to go yarn shopping.

But I'm having surgery next month that will keep me off my feet for a couple of weeks, so I have to make sure I have enough yarn in the house to keep me busy.

Happy New Year everyone.
