I can only recall being washed ashore.. when I use the airship coordinates I endup in a chest-only small area...

Home is also gone.

So whats the closest destination to get to the Desert?

The main desert area should be in your selection list. It might be called someting like Bikinel Desert. The area with just the chest is a secret area, but the main desert is there as soon as you get the airship.

Found it.. very counter intuitively the destination is called "Bikanel Islands".
