So .. ive captured every mob in the game i can Except ONE.

The Arena guy shows that i havnt captured one of <Unknown> mob in Thunder Plains and i have no idea how/why. Ive spent countless hours running around there and i *shrug* duno what to do.

What am i missing?!

It is the cactuar. You have to pray at the stones before they will appear. This is part of the side quest to get Khimari's celestial weapon. Go up to the stones with cactuar pictures on them. If it is glowing, hit square and you should pray. If it isn't glowing, find one that is. Once you have prayed at 3 statues, you can follow a cactuar ghost to the area where Khimari's weapons is. You can also encounter battles with a number of cactuars equal to the number of statues you have prayed at (1, 2 or 3).

Erm, Caqtuar is pretty rare but you can find it in the thunder plains, be sure that you are high level, if not, they might just run away after doing 1000 needles or something like that. Approx 1 caqtuar battle per 20 normal battles in the thunder plains, sometimes it comes as 1 or sometimes 2 or 3. Good luck
