Aarrgghhh! I cannot manage to work with fun fur. How do you ladies do it??? I tried to make a simple cell phone holder out of it and I can't even crochet with it after I do the chain. Is there a secret or something?

LARGE NEEDLES, That's the way to Crochet and Knit with Fun Fur. Until you get the hang of working with it have lots of light in front and behind you. You can tackle this yarn, after all you are in charge of the needle. <img src="/images/graemlins/laugh.gif" alt="" />

you may also want to hold another yarn with it .. maybe a sport or fingering weight to help you see the stitches

haha I 'crocheted' a scarf of eyelash for xmas. I used a J hook (my norm is F). I also vowed never to use it again. It is agony to rip out, Im usually a semi perfect crocheter - even rows same # of stitches top to bottom etc, but this stuff messed me all up. I prefer home spuns or chenilles or that other kind that looks like a cross of the two. Lots and Lots of light and LOTS and LOTS of paitience is what I prescribe, I even had to alter my stitch a little, as in doing my pull through UNDER the joining stitch of the row below rather than through it. Good luck darling =]

Hi Ducky,
You can also not worry about finding the stitches and crochet between stitches. I did this and it worked out fine. When the piece is done you cannot see the stitches anyway.
I really didn't like working with it much in crochet, so I started knitting it and now I just use a knitting loom for it.

Hi Duckylove,
It does take practice & patience to work with fun fur. I like to use a sport weight yarn with it. It's just much easier that way. I made a few boa scarves for presents this year and used different types of yarn . On some of them I used light & lofty. baby clouds, plush & a sport weight. I loved how each one looked a little different with the same pattern.
And yes, it is easier to knit with than crochet with.

I too also use another type of yarn when working with fun fur, boa or any of that type of yarn. It makes it so much easier.

Mix it with a bulkier yarn. Just sport weight works fine.
