This post is not to begin a question and answer session, nor to go into arguments. Please do not respond, if you want to argue. If there are doubts in your mind about what I say, ask your own God about it when you meditate.

The only objective of a human being is to realize true self in this life. Everything else is Maya or delusion. True self can be found if you get the grace of a true teacher. Those who speak or write well may not be true teachers. True teacher will make his/her presence known to you in other ways. You will suddenly find changes in your life that are irreversible and incomprehhensible. You will be amazed and not know what is happening. That is the beginning of the grace. Once you are on the journey, the Guru will never leave you. You will find your true self at the end. Some get it in a minute. Some take many lifetimes. But they get it for sure.

To get true teacher, do good deeds. Help others. Be compassionate. Forgive. Be a god person. Always follow truth. Never be selfish. If you do good deeds you will surely get the true teacher.

Amongst the known teachers- Ramakrishna Paramhans, Baba Muktanand, Buddha, Jesus Christ, Swami Vivekanand, Aurobindo and many others.

A true teacher is one who has become one with the God. Who is God in form of human body.

Mere arguments, and showing one's knowledge leads one nowhere except frustration. By speaking a lot to show ones superiority or knowledge will be of no help to any of us. The only path is to go in meditation and ask. Try to meet a true teacher and find the true character of ones self. Rest all is useless.

To seek this, Buddha left his kingdom. Baba Muktanand left his home. Ramakrishna left everything. Jesus suffered.

I am be called an ignorant, a fool or a proud person because of this post. Some of you may want to shout back at me. Some of you may ask- what do I think of myself? But I got true Guru and I am not concerned with what any body says. I wanted to provide some guidance to others. That was the only objective of this post. I am still on my journey so I have not right to say any further. Thank you for reading this and may God bless you all.

Hi cdmohatta.. I read your post with interest. My thought is that all religions and beliefs provide us with knowledge from the greatest of teachers.. those you mentioned in your post as well as Mother Theresa, Ghandi and Mohummad. History has provided us with their words, their teachings and their wisdom. I don't feel that I need a guru in this lifetime. I think that my search for my own spirit has been guided immensely by the teachings of all those teachers as well as those who have been generous enough to teach me their customs and rituals, including the Medicine Women from the Seneca tribe and the Mystic Rabbi who taught me the wisdom inherent in the Kaballah. The more I read and the more I learn, the more diverse knowledge I absorb. A guru can only offer you their own particular version of spirituality... that comes from within THEM. I prefer to embrace all of the teachers and dreamers and visionaries both past and present and listen to the words they have to share.

You say that- A guru can only offer you their own particular version of spirituality... that comes from within THEM.

This is what teachers do. Not a true Guru.
there is a very big difference between a true Guru and teachers or people who have immense knowledge.

I am talking about Sadguru. I know that Gurumai who is many times in US, is a true sadguru. I have no knowledge about any other Sadguru from India in the west.

To know about a Sadguru and the difference between him/her and great teachers, you should meet a Sadguru. within minutes you will realize the difference.

Hi again Cdmohatta... Are Sadgurus only found in India? If so, why is that? Are there any people in any other part of the world that would qualify as a Sadguru? Aren't there any in the United States or Europe or other parts of the world? Does that mean that the holiest of the holy only reside in India? Please don't think that I am intending to be offensive. I really am curious about this.

Love and Light..

No. Sadgurus must be in other places of the world also. Jesus was recognized as one. I do not know about one now but that is because of my limited knowledge about people in the world.

One thing is sure, most of the Indians who travel to west to teach spirituality etc. are fakes. Pl. do not evr get deceived by them. test your Guru first.

For years I attended Episcopal church,in fact,my brother is a priest,I call myself agnostic now,and I read and I think, and its like a whole world has opened up,and I dont have to swallow any thing I dont want to.I think a whole lot of people out there are asking questionsand where this leaves the church,as we know it,well, I dont know where it leaves it. i think its energy,Mother God,God,I think there many paths to knowledgejust take what you need and leave the rest behind

I found these posts very interesting as I have only in the past few months started meditating and seeking a truer spiritual path for myself.

I started out as a Christian but as a young child, my grandmother scared me with tales of the lake of fire where bad little girls would wind up and she took me to Holy-Roller churches which caused me to think Christianity was not the path I wanted to be on.

I look back on what happened to me as a child as a blessing in my spiritual journey because I have always been open to other beliefs, and read about and studied them.

Now, I find, I have the knowledge in my head but I am seeking truth for my soul and this doesn't come from reading books.

I think once we honestly open ourselves up to our higher path, that the teachers and guides will appear to help us on our journey. I know that has been true for me.

cdmohatta, I agree about doing good deeds because it raises your consciousness to where it needs to be. If we begin each day asking, "How may I serve?" the ways to serve will present themselves.

I totally agree with you Joan. The more I have learned to give the more I seem to receive. Through work with Hospice and as a Community Minister working with the homeless, I have come to appreciate my health and what I have as the highest of blessings. If I can help in turn to make life easier for another, than that becomes a way of paying back what I have receieved.

I have come to discover that I no longer have a need to define a Creator.. I allow the Creator to define me instead.

Love and Light...
