Making a block afghan and having problem with different colors producing different size squares, even if I use same number of stitches across and same no of rows. One of the colors is coming out about 1/2 inch short on side and top. HELP - should I just add a couple more stitches and an extra row or two to match. If so would I have trouble joining the two blocks if one block has 21 rows, and another has 23 rows?????

I am very upset with this yarn as gauge should not depend on the color!

Block your squares. You should be able to get them all to be the same size with blocking.

One easy way is to just use a larger hook, for example if you are making your squares with say a size H hook, switch to a size I, this may easily fix your problem.

It's not just that particular yarn - that seems to be a universal problem with almost all yarns nowadays. Whatever happened to quality? Between knots within skeins and variations in thickness of the yarn within skeins or within dye lots and now the problem you are describing. And it's not like this stuff is cheap!

Worse, Red Heart's no-dyelot yarn isn't consistently colored anymore. Three projects that others in my group have made, using this yarn, have marked color differentiations even when using just white!!
