Hey Melissa, I wonder if you could find a nice snow flake pattern you like, make up the snow flake, then sc in the point, chain enough to get to the next point, sc in that point, and continue around, then join in first sc. Increase evenly in the next row, using whatever stitch you decide to do. Keep increasing until it's large enough for the crown of your head, then stop increasing and just work 1 stitch in each stitch around, until the hat is a size you want it to be.

I hope this post is OK.

That is a great looking hat and I think I'll try and make one. I have some snowflake doiley patterns that would be a good start. If I accomplish this with any success then I'll share the pattern.

Isabella2000,

Hey Melissa !
Is this you ? on another crochet site ?
I haven't visited this site for over a month , and the same hat you are looking for is under Isabella2000.
My Grand Niece is named Isabella , so this caught my eye. She is 1,and lives in Az.

Hi Mother Hen,

Yes it is me. I love the name Isabella. If are were going to have anymore children that would be the name I would chose but I already have 3 daughters, one 23 and married, one 21 and in college and one who is 14. Actually, I just named my kitten Isabella.

Great Hat Link, BigMama613.
I want to make the Dr. Zhivago hat.
I'm beginning to regret that I only have one head.
(I need more hands too so I can crochet multiple hats at the same time.)
