I thought it might be fun to share how you came up with your forum names. On other forums I use the name Crochet Queen and how that came about is a bit of a story. I have a 24 year old niece who has thought since she was born that she was the "princess" and even to this day she loves anything that has "princess" on it. Well one day we were teasing her about it and somehow I ended up being the Queen so it has stuck ever since. I'm the Queen and she is the Princess, of course I had to be the Queen of something so I picked crochet. And yes we do tease each other terribly about it, especially if she tries to outrank me, I always pull out my "Queen is higher than a Princess" card. Ok I have told you mine, let's here yours.

i just love butterflies, i even have a little butterfly tatoo. they're so pretty and delicate. years ago when i first started "interneting" my handle was sweetmelissa (yes, because of the song by the alman bros. had a good friend once who had the song lyrics framed nicely for me, for my birthday). then a couple of years ago, i decided on a brand new identity to match my new tatoo. other wise, i'm just plain 'ol "melissa". I'll come to the table either way

I'm just so boring I guess, I just use my name. So much easier that way. The only nickname that I really have is Minnie, when my sister was little she couldn't pronounce the D and it stuck.

Well obviously, my name is Wendy, the latter part comes from my pet name at pow wows. I'm 5'11 and kind of hard to miss even in a crowd, It's a name that just follows me everywhere...I'm always being called the tall chick, one, woman, girl, etc.

As Mother Hen > I signed my name to my children in this manner >
then I sent multiple E-mail one time and I just kept it that way.
I am a Mother of 4 and our last name is Henderson.
My husband , was called at school > Henny.
When I visited several craft sites and saw nick names , I just stuck with what I am !!
A Mother Hen , with 4 chicks and many grand chicks.
Many ladies have told me > How cute ,my forum name is , so I think it's all fallen into place.

This name started as a joke. My husband is a potter and I do sculpture. We would kid our students and chant "Be One With The Clay".
Eventually we just shortened it to identify ourselves as, (the) Ones with the clay because if a person shows up without clay, we always have enough to share.

I got mine from my fiance. It's a play on my name, Karen. He started calling me Keeron and it stuck. His family & most of my friends call me Keeron now.

Miekki is a shortened version of "Mielikki" who is a goddess in Finnish folklore... and no, I'm not the goddess. My loveable little kitty was named by one of my closest friends who is from Finland. Believe me... she is the goddess in this household!

Oh yeah, btw... Butterfly and Keeron, where did you both get your wonderful Christmas sigpics? I would love one but don't possess that talent... I wanted one for everyday posts, but those holiday ones are awesome!

Hello, just stumbled across this forum by accident but I love hearing about how people got their (nick)names.
My name is Barbara but as you can guess that's taken in every forum/website I go to so I have to come up with something else. So one day I was really stuck to come up with a username and was thinking of all sorts of names that start with a B (so I could at least remember it when signing in!). And Baloo from the Jungle Book came to my mind. Since that was taken, too, (doh!) I added another syllable to it and, voila, name created. It has stuck with me, though!
