Hi I'm new on the board. I'm fairly new at crocheting as well. I'm making a baby hat and I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. Where the ends of the rows meet, the rows are slanting down. So the hat is longer on one side even though it's suppose to be a circle. Please help!!!
Thanks

My guess >?

You are either > adding to one end or even
missing a stitch at the begining or the end.
These will alter the shape.

My > this is hard to guess at with out seeing it .
Could you post a picture and let the viewers have a look.
This is the best way for a true answer.

You could try this. Place a marker at the beginning st of the row. Then when you get to the end of the row, you'll know where to join. Another thing remember not to crochet in the same st as the joining unless that says to do it in the instructions. If you do it would be considered an increase. Continue to bring marker up on each row,
I hope this helps.

And you don't need to buy the expensive stitch markers you find in the yarn section, either. A twist tie works just as well!

LOL When I wrote that I was thinking of a bobbie pin.

I got some markers the other day. They are for marking your drinks at a party. The package has 5 beaded markers for a dollar. I figured I could use these for stitch markers. If not then I could use the beads for something.
