I am a very logical person, and I'm worried that everyone is going to think I'm crazy. Here is my story:
I had a dream about a month ago that envolved me getting a phone call from my friend who I don't necessarily see or hear from all that often becaue he lives out of state in the millitary. He told me that his dad died and that he was coming home and we had a really sad conversation. After waking up I was pretty disturbed about the whole thing and waited a couple of days to tell my girlfriend. My friend ended up calling me a week or so later and I told him. I was still pretty disturbed about it, because it was a very very real feeling dream. He laughed it off because his dad was fairly young (47) and never had any health problems.
I just had that EXACT conversation with him this evening... Even then way he said it and the way the room felt. It was the most surreal thing I've ever experienced.
Now his dad was not someone who I usually thought about or talked about unless it's with him. Like I said, there was no indication that he was going to have a heart attack other than my dream.
This isn't the first time things like this have happened. I'm really freaked out... Does anyone have any advice??

Hello Randomguy. Don't worry about your mental health, this is a real phenomena that some people experience. You have some psychic ability even though you are 'logical' and it is coming through in your dreams when your 'logical self' is silenced.
Try to relax with it. Keep a diary & record these 'knowing' dreams. Date them, treat it as research. Do it in a way that satisfies the logical & scientific side of you. Also don't think for one moment that you brought any of this into being. You just got a glimpse of the future, you didn't make it happen.

I totally agree with the dream journal. I've kept one for over a year and have found out some interesting stuff. It helps you figure out which dreams are "release dreams" vs. psychic dreams. I dream of people who are dead, whom I was not close to or related, just somehow connected. At first I thought it was symbolic. I have not validated any of the messages, as I fear being taken as insensitive or playing a bad joke. I've had two dreams of patients (I'm a doctor's assist.) whom had died 6 mos. prior and I did not know. It is mind blogging, freaky and NOT logical. That's how this psychic stuff is. I usually get a name of the person who is going to pass in my dreams. And I hear from someone within a week or two. In my case, the person I think of in the dream is usualy not the one. For example, I dreamt I was told "Felix is going to die soon" as I was standing in the middle of a highway at night. I do have a distant uncle Felix. A week later, one of my best friend's uncle died in a car accident and his name was Felix. That's why its important to write as many details of the dream, to get more clues or validations. Well, hopes this helps Randomguy!

Having a dream that predicts someones death can be disturbing, that is for sure. But I feel it happens more often than most of us realize. I have had two such dreams in my life; I'll relate one of them here. This was about 15 years ago. The dream: I was in a graveyard with many members of my extended family. Oddly, we were having a picnic there. Children were running about and a gravestone was inadertently knocked over. My sister-in-law picked up the gravestone and there was an expression of shock on her face. In the dream I somehow understood that she had read her own name on the gravestone. That was the dream. It was very forceful. Some months later my sister-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer, and in about a year she died. I suppose this could be considered in the realm of coincidence, but I can tell you it certainly has never felt that way to me!

I have a dream in the second half of 2006 where I dreamt that my husband was dead. The funny thing is that I wasn't upset. Even when I woke up from the dream I wasn't sad or upset, I just felt ok.
I read somewhere that says that if you have a dream of yourself dying, that's good. It means you are reborn as a new person. I assume that it might mean a change of personality, for good.
So since I didn't have any bad feeling, I monitor my husband more closely. A few months later, due to some events, he totally changed. He is more positive, his situation also improve. So I assume that is a good dream, esp so as I don't have any bad feelings.

I've never predicted death, but I have had dreams about life events before they happen. I feel like I'm crazy. The first dream I had when I was in high school, I didn't tell anyone for 3 years because I thought they would think ill of me...it's comforting to know that maybe I'm not the only person who has similar experiences...

I agree about keeping a dream journal. I too keep one. As for your dream you're not crazy. It's called a premantion dream and yes it can be pretty freaky, espically if it's a death.
I had a premation dream about 2 years ago that still kinda freaks me out when I think about it. In my dream a saw a friend of mine sitting on the park bench next to my house, I went over to him & asked him what was wrong. He told me that his girlfriend broke up with him because of one of his habits. A few days later a mutal friend called me & told me that this particular friend's g/f broke up with him because of one of his habits. It didn't happen the exact same way in my dream but none the less it was the same incident.
