BirdTalk magazine has a great article on the Spix Macaw in the November issue.
I thought it really illustrated a point I've tried to make. If you own an exotic pet - especially an endangered one - you have a responsibility to that species. Please consider donating to a conservation organization or get involved in a breeding program so our exotic pets are not extinct animals in the future. Encourage others to do the same. You don't have to be the biggest donor "ever" - every little bit helps.
