Hi All! <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

I just received my package of Easy Tunisian hooks yesterday. The sizes are L, M, N & P. I really like the tunisian stitch on the bigger hooks. I used a Q hook with a cardboard stopper on the end and did the same with an S hook. Stitch Diva has a longer Q afghan hook but it's $30, Really don't want to spend $30 on a hook right now.

Does anyone else do tunisian crochet?

i tried it and loved the look, but it hurt my hands. and i envy your use with a "Q" hook. i recently for the first time bought a "Q" hook and i just cant hold onto it. i must have small hands or something. lol....i was soooo dissappointed too. there was a neat little jacket in that interweave mag (the crochet edition) that called for a "Q". i bought it just for that...then i couldn't hold the hook right and make the stitches look right. it just ended up looking like a tangle of yarn. waaaa!
the smaller size uses a "P" hook, but i needed the bigger size jacket. oh well!

Naah...I'm like butterfly, my hands hurt too much anymore. I do some cross stitch on a modified sc background instead. (The modified sc background is a stitch I developed just for this purpose that I may try to market someday). Anyway, it has a beautiful drape and doesn't hurt me (and that's important as I would not like to have to quit crocheting because my hands hurt!). As for the "Q" hook, I'm going to try a handturned wooden one. I do have tiny hands and find I can hold onto wood hooks much easier with much less stress on my old(er) hands. I suppose after 45+ years of crocheting, something's gotta give!

I used my Q hook and put a ponytail holder on the end. But I do have a few afghan stich hooks that work too.

what are you planning to make keeron? i really love the look of tunisian.

modified sc...hmmmm....very interesting <img src="/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />

recently tried a brittany birch hook. the yarn doesn't move as easily across the hook like the susan bates, or boye.

I Love Tunisian. There is alot you can do with it, especially sweaters. I let my 8 year old design his own sweater. Butterfly,
I'm going to make the poncho pattern that came with the hooks. It uses a stitch called tunisian elongated. It's the simple stitch but you chain one after pulling up a loop thru the vertical bar.

Eva,
Nice work on the sweater!
