I am from Victoria, BC, Canada. Should not West Coast travel include pacific coastal areas of British colombia right up to Alaska?

No. Unless you are in Canada, in which case it would not include any American states coastlines. For that matter it doesn't include Mexico or Central America.

Almost exclusively when an American says they are going to the West Coast, they mean the West Coast of the continental US, not the west coast of the continent.

Technically speaking, the West Coast Travel page is in the U.S. Destinations category, so Canada is not included, and unfortunately we don't currently have any Canada pages on BellaOnline.

That said, I would love to include more of the West Coast, up to Alaska, if I had more time.

The previous editor wrote almost exclusively about California and Las Vegas (which isn't coastal at all but isn't covered on our other sites).

I've worked to expand the coverage to include Oregon and Washington. This has been a pleasure since I was raised in the Pacific Northwest.

I have been to Juneau, Alaska once, and Victoria B.C. several times and as far as I'm concerned, all points north of the continental U.S. are gorgeous.

As for Mexico, you can visit Niki Spence, the Mexico Editor at the Mexico page.

BellaOnline's Island Travel category includes a "Canada" section! Although I'm a new editor as of Dec 06, you'll find articles on freighter travel off the west coast of Vancouver Island, discovering the Discovery Islands (on the west coast!) and Island Adventure (three ways to explore Vancouver Island).
