I'm starting to think that this isn't the forum for me. Sad really. Please PM me if you want to keep in touch.

Like some of you, I probably won't be back either. I usually used to visit this forum everyday, so this will be sad for me. It's quite pathetic, too...but...what can I say? I feel like I do want my rights to be protected and I still want to have free speech, and be able to say what I want. Which, I never said anything above the level of c-r-a-p here, so...but I do believe in having rights, and some place which doesn't allow that to be fully true, well, I can't have it.

So I'll visit you all on the other forums. Count me out on this one. I'm sad to do this but I feel it is needed for me to feel comfortable. Everybody that's going to the other forums...count me in.

One thing I think some of you might find out there in unmoderated-land is that on a lot of unmoderated forums, it's the loudest, foulest mouthed people who rule the roost, and generally they stay busy claiming to be "more CF than thou". You will find that a lot of those alpha-dog types are men...single ones, too, generally. They are all too happy to get in a pissing contest with you about semantics...believe me. I am battle-scarred from my time on a.s.c. on Usenet.

Good luck getting any *real* support from those alpha types --- being CF is a lot easier for men, generally. Also, make no mistake: they rule those newsgroups, in a way. If you're not "CF" enough for them, militant enough for them, or if you don't spout enough invective or toe the line that every last person who's ever reproduced is the worst scum of the earth, you'll hear about it as well. Black and white arguments tend to go over well there. Meanwhile, most of the world seems (at least to me) to be various shades of grey.

If that's what you want, then please...by all means, have at. I have a feeling you might miss out on some real double-x chromosome CF support, though.

I'm sorry some of you feel that you have to leave this Forum as a result of my moderating it. I have tried to explain myself and my decision in as many ways as possible.

I have created some standards for this site to bring it more in line to what I believe in, which is within my rights to do as a BellaOnline Editor. Many of the other CF sites are independent and unmoderated, and may be more appropriate for the kind of messages that have recently been posted.

Of course, I don't want to see anyone leave. But sometimes you have to stand up for what you believe in, and in my case, that means making the MNK Forum a better place to find support, which I believe can be done without offending anyone on purpose.

For those of you who decide to stay, I hope this will become a place where you can visit and find support without all of the vitriol.

I really don't understand why there's a problem with civilized conversation.

And I think Kim said a few times it was CF visitors complaining.

Obviously the truth hurt some of you so you are leaving. It's unfortunate but maybe some of the others who have been visiting but were afraid to say anything will join in.

Oh, and for clarification, since it seems so important. I'm Married No Kids. And for further clarification I'm not the one who spurred the complaint but when asked about it I agreed.

Kim has done an excellent job Moderating this forum and I'm sure she'll continue to do an excellent job.

Why do CF proponents think name-calling is the way to go? It's either free reign to name-call or they have to hit the highway? lol

As any good debater knows, in order to sway people to your opinion, you should speak softly and with dignity.

Recently a journalist got mad because someone used the word "queer" in the article. He made a joke editorial asking all the waps, spics, tree-huggers, beatniks, polaks and towel-heads to let them know if his words hurt. You gain nothing when you must resort to labels to make a point.

If you're not able to lift yourself up for your own choices without stepping on the feelings of others to get there, then you really haven't achieved much at all.

I'm a polack tree-hugger and I've got no problem with it. It's what I am, why not call it like it is?
